Heart of the High Country

Boone is the Heart of the High Country, but to find the soul, you need to drive the back roads. Find free maps and a downloadable CD to listen to as you drive on www.HighCountryBackRoads.com

The leaves in the High Country are generally at their most colorful in the second half of October. The highest elevations begin to change first, and of the weather effects the dates a little. Leaf color in the mountains is always gorgeous!

Later in the fall, around Thanksgiving, you can come Choose & Cut your family’s perfect Christmas tree and begin (or continue) a great family tradition. And around that time the first snows will fall and our four modern ski resorts will start making snow on those cold mountain nights.

So come on up for the leaf spectacular, then your family’s perfect Christmas tree, then for a weekend of skiing or snow tubing. Boone and the High Country are just about half-a-tank away!
